IDLSoc May 2018 Newsletter

This month's society news includes a summary of the IDLS2018 Event Planning Day - which took place in San Diego during May - and the key outcomes, as well as an update from the AS/NZ Chapter. We are also pleased to announce that booking for this year's Symposium is now open - act now to secure your early bird discount!

Other news this month includes an event report from May's Tactical Communications Forum in Kaunas, Lithuania. Mentioned in this article is the Swedish Armed Forces' Joint Policy Documentation for Interoperability Enabling Systems 2016-2025; we are pleased to confirm we have kindly been given permission to share these documents, and you can access them now via the Swedish Chapter's area of the website (you will need your IDLSoc login details).

Finally, we are also grateful to the German Armed Forces for sharing with us, their first impressions of their Timber Express 2018 exercise. This was a live Link-16 training exercise, and full details are available in the newsletter.

Top 10 Issues

Since Brigadier General Brundidge challenged the Society, at IDLS2010, to identify the top ten issues that would face the Data Links Community in the future. The Society has continued to track the top ten issues holding a number of workshops to make sure that the issues are still current and relevant. This has resulted in the creation of a forum on this site. The Society has identified 22 issues. You can join the debate by clicking here.

TechApp V1.1.1 Now Available


The Society is pleased to announce that the IDLSoc TechApp is now available on both Android and iOS devices

Those with Android devices can access it via the Google Play Store.
